Alechinsky, pinceau voyageur

Alechinsky, pinceau voyageur is an ode to travel, exploring in particular the immense artist's fascination with the artistic practices and traditions of Japan and China, which inspired him respectively.

An ode to freedom, the exhibition highlights the artist's freedom to experiment, alternating between different techniques and media since 1947: canvases, inks, with or without stamping, etchings, lithographs, enamelled lava, porcelain books and the harpsichord, painted in 1986, presented in the main hall.

An ode to friendship, the exhibition features works Alechinsky created four-handed with artists such as Jirí Kolár, Hans Spinner, or to accompany the works of authors like Salah Stétié, Amos Kenan or Joyce Mansour.
